Over the years, our dedication has earned us recognition such as Maui’s Best Italian Restaurant (2025), Maui’s Best Chef "Matteo Mistura", Best Italian Restaurant & Best Service "Michael Russomanno" (2016) + Ê»Aipono Silver Medal for Best Italian. Our Founders
Chef Matteo Mistura, originally from Italy, brings his heritage & culinary expertise to every dish, blending traditional recipes with a fresh, local touch. Alongside him, his wife Gianna Mistura shares her warmth & dedication to hospitality, making guests feel like part of the family from the moment they arrive. Together, Matteo & Gianna have created a restaurant that not only celebrates Italian flavors, but also embodies the spirit of aloha here in Maui.

Born & raised on Maui, Executive Chef Jayven Jacalne-Bonilla leads the kitchen at Matteo’s Osteria with passion, dedication & artistry. Inspired by his early experiences cooking alongside his father & competing in local culinary programs; Chef Jayven has built his career through hard work, creativity & a deep respect for local ingredients.

Blending time-honored Italian recipes with bold, modern techniques, he brings out the rich flavors & aromas that define our cuisine. From handcrafted pastas to fresh island seafood & premium meats, every dish reflects his commitment to excellence & his connection to the community that makes it all possible.
